Main System Chassis or Main System Information

The fields that display for your Main System Chassis/Main System depend on the features that your system supports. The table below shows many of the fields that you may see when you display a system summary for your Main System Chassis/Main System. You can see a summary of properties for your Main System Chassis/Main System by selecting System from the Server Administrator system tree and by selecting the Summary tab.

NOTE: Main System Chassis is applicable for Rack or Tower systems and Main System for Blade systems.
NOTE: This help page may include information about features not supported by your system. Server Administrator only displays the features that are supported on your system.

Host Name Displays the host name. Blade, Rack, or Tower systems
Backplane Firmware Version Displays the version of the firmware for the backplane or baseboard management controller (BMC). Blade, Rack, or Tower systems
Remote Access Controller Firmware Version Displays the version of the firmware for the Remote Access Controller. Blade, Rack, or Tower systems
Lifecycle Controller Displays the version of the LCC. Blade, Rack, or Tower systems
Sensor Data Records Version Records version of the sensors or status indicators that report data about devices using the BMC. Blade, Rack, or Tower systems
Chassis Model Indicates the model name and model number of the system. Rack or Tower systems
System Revision Displays the revision number of the system. For example, for second revision, the value displayed is - II, for third revision - III.
NOTE: This field name is not displayed for first revision systems, and for systems with certain BIOS versions.
Blade, Rack, or Tower systems
Chassis Lock Indicates whether a lock is present to prevent theft or any other unauthorized intrusion into the system and its components. Rack or Tower systems
Chassis Service Tag Displays an alphanumeric code that uniquely identifies a chassis. Rack or Tower systems
Chassis Asset Tag Specifies either manufacturer's information or, in the case of a customer-specified asset tag, customer's information (such as inventory number, serial number, and so on). If your asset tag is customer who is assigned, you can enter a value for it.
NOTE: This value cannot be configured on the PowerEdge servers.
Rack or Tower systems
System Lockdown Mode The system is in lockdown mode and all the configuration changes are disabled. Rack or Tower systems
iDRAC version Displays the iDRAC version. PowerEdge Blade systems
Baseboard Management Controller version Displays the Baseboard Management Controller (BMC) version. PowerEdge Rack or Tower systems
Service Tag An alphanumeric code that uniquely identifies a server module. Blade systems
Express Service Code A numeric code that uniquely identifies a server module/chassis. Blade, Rack, or Tower systems
Asset Tag A label on a server module that specifies either manufacturer's information or, in the case of a customer-specified asset tag, customer's information (such as inventory number, serial number, and so on). If your asset tag is customer who is assigned, you can enter a value for it.
NOTE: This value cannot be configured on the PowerEdge servers.
Blade systems
Identify Chassis Enables the identification feature of the system. This feature flashes an LED on the outside of the external chassis or system to aid in identification. Click to enable this feature. Rack or Tower systems
Identify Server Module Enables the identification feature of the system. This feature flashes an LED on the server module to aid in identification. Click to enable this feature. Blade systems
Identify Chassis Timeout Displays the number of seconds that the flashing chassis identification LED remains on. Enter the number of seconds. Rack or Tower systems
Identify Server Module Timeout Displays the number of seconds that the flashing server module identification LED remains on. Enter the number of seconds. Blade systems
Clear Hard Drive Fault Clears any currently active hard-drive fault LED activity. Blade, Rack, or Tower systems
Flash Fault LED at This Severity Level Selects the severity level for which you want the main chassis front-panel light to flash. Blade, Rack, or Tower systems
NOTE: On Modular servers and cloud servers the Chassis Lock attribute to be interpreted as Not applicable when it displays as Not Present.
